9:31 pm - *flop*
WOW so I have been meaning to do this for a while now. But I wanted to have.... THIS for you!

J's Blanket 50%

That? That is the blanket I am knitting for J's wedding. It is half finished. It is lying on my bed, which is a Full sized mattress, on the edge of the bed. Bailey, who is being camera shy, is obviously helping with size relation.

It is only half finished. *cue nervous twitch and giggle*

I'm actually pretty confident that I can get it finished on time. And I'm really happy with how it's turning out. I think it'll look very chic when the rest of the sections are added and it's all finished. It is soft and warm and I love it. I think J will too. ^_^

Other than that... I'm working on keeping on top of school, and I'm hoping that either next week or the week after, I'll get a call from a job I interviewed for recently. It would be really nice to get a raise in pay and work in a job where I can -sit- for most of the day. Other than knitting, working, and school work... I'm spending as much time with the Boy is possible. He just recently lost his job because of budget cuts in the school district, so he's looking. I think he's got a good chance for a job he applied for, he's just waiting to hear back. So I'm doing the whole supportive girlfriend thing. Plus I love spending time with him.

So yeah... not much unfortunately.

8:50 pm - whoo
...wooow I am bad at this whole updaty thing. >.< Anyway. A few notes of interest.

1. Jobs. Both interviews were a bust. Boo. I've decided to hold off on resuming the search until July, a.) because I need a little rest from it and b.) because there are goings on in June. Which are...

2. The Boy and I. Next Thursday is our six month anniversary. ...yes, we're counting. :P We've pretty much got a three day extravaganza planned. Thursday we're going out to the Georgetowne Inn, which is swanky. Friday might be Kennywood, depending on the weather, and then Saturday is a lazy day of finishing up Black Butler and whatever else comes to mind. Then, two weeks after that, he's kidnapping me to go camping. No phone. No internet. Just me, him (and his mom and her hubby), knitting, reading, swimming, lounging in the sun... *SIGH* sounds so heavenly.

3. School. I GET TO CODE MY FIRST WEBSITE I GET TO CODE MY FIRST WEBSITE!!! ...*ahem* Understandably excited, as you can no doubt see.

So yeah... keeping my head up... trying to keep on top of things. Speaking of which, I should probably crack down on knitting that blanket...

8:24 pm - EEEEE!
Two. Two is my current magic number. Do you know why?

I have two interviews. :D One tomorrow, and one on Tuesday. EEEEEE!!! So excited. I hope hope hope hope hope that I get one of them. Either would be really nice. One's in downtown PBurgh, 8 to 5 job. The other one is in the other direction, 12 to 8:30. Bit weird, but a good job still. So fingers crossed people!!!

In other news.... ever wonder what happens when an over organized Virgo gets a nice big knitting project?

...no? Too bad. You're finding out!

So for those of you who aren't on my Facebook, here's the lowdown on what happened last night.

Photobucket

This picture appeared with the message:

"Oh... my... God.

Yes, that is what you think it is."

This was followed by several Bmore friends in varying states of Squee and excitement, one person from work commenting on the FBook, the best friend from work texting me saying "Tell me everything" and the Boy's friends texting him with various questions, my favorite being "Did she just post what I think she posted?"

Fast forward to this morning, when one of my friends noticed it was on the wrong hand. Then I put up the picture again with the message:

"Last night was brilliant.

A brilliant April Fool's joke. Sorry kids, I couldn't resist. Especially not when I saw the ring in the boxed displays at Penny's. :D

Internet cookies to Chibi for noticing it was on my right hand!"

Best April Fool's prank I've ever actually been a part of. :D

7:16 pm - suuuuuuckiiiiiiiit
....seriously. This week can kiss my ass.

So, number one, the boy might be losing his dream job. That's the problem with school positions: budget cuts are a BITCH. He'll know for sure on the 20th. If it actually happens, his last day will be July 1st. I told him we'll have the same goal then: a new job by July.

Speaking of jobs... my best friend from work got a new job. And while I am SUPER happy for him (he's going to be working in a salon that will hire him once he's got his certification done), I was literally devastated today. The reason I loved working with him and my boy was because they made the effort to include me. Deaf in one ear, have to wear a headset can be a huge pain in the ass. However, we have a B button that lets us chat with each other. They made the effort to B button practically everything, just so I can participate in the conversation. No one else at work does that.

The boy let me crash with him today so I'm not sobbing at the thought of being almost completely ignored/isolated at work. We're watching the Penn's game with some of his friends and then maybe playing Magic. I might pass because I either want to do more school work or job hunty stuff.

Other than that... not much is going on. I've got all my yarn organized to start knitting Jenn's blanket. Just waiting on the needles. I've got pictures because HOLY COW there is a lot of yarn. I wound up one skein yesterday and filled the ball winder twice and a little more. So yeah... this is going to be an EPIC blanket. The air filter seems to be working, though I don't think the cat is really digging it since it's a little noisy. Sounds like a fan, but slightly higher pitch.

Oh well... back to job hunty or other stuffs...

6:23 pm - Christmasasas
Apologies for the long silence... knitting six scarves, nearly completing a hat and then working at least 36 hours a week while trying to steal time with a certain gentleman caller has left me a little strapped for time in this arena. So. A recap.

Christmas was spent very well. My sisters and I actually managed to sing for the Christmas Eve service, a performance we'll be repeating tomorrow. Mother made an EXCELLENT brisket this year, along with some potatoes that were to DIE for. The dogs... so many dogs... The Loot was rather nice this year as well. I GOT A BALL WINDER. AND BLOCKING MATS. :D I am in knitter's paradise. I also got a Kindle, seasons 2 & 3 of Supernatural, some other movies and odds and ends. My two favorite so far are the Wind Rider Cub (if you don't play WoW, you probably don't know what this is, and that's ok!) and the Kindle version of "Pride and Prejudice and Zombies", both given to me by the Boy. There was little fighting and fairly little stress, which was nice.

Work is still... well... work. We're still hoping Santa brings us a new GM. Or at least takes the old one away.

And no, you weren't hallucinating. The Crush has been officially upgraded to the Boy. We spent a whole evening just snuggled on a couch and falling asleep. And I was so stupidly happy when I woke up in his arms... yes, I'm a soppy romantic at heart. :P So yeah. I have a Boy. This makes me rather happy. :D

11:48 am - A brief update
A brief update...

Four out of six Christmas scarves finished, starting the fifth today most likely after work. Also have to do a hat, but those I can do in, like, a day. Last week of class and then I get about two weeks off before the next class. I'm planning on getting everything done for class either Thursday or Friday, since I have those days off. This one was EXTREMELY boring and kind of useless since it's Tech Writing. Next one looks a little more interesting.

Other than that... yeah. The only other big thing is that I get to square off with The Moronic GM about getting off on Christmas Eve. The fact that the idiot actually has the store open until 9 PM is proof of his sheer, epic FAIL. He's over scheduled the entire day and dammit, I want off. I wouldn't make a big deal of it except my sister, who NEVER gets off, has the day so it's going to be a huge family night. If he won't work with me, I'm working around him. I have contingency plans of either switching with someone who works much earlier or having it on good authority that the shift managers that day are going to kick me out super early.

*SIGH* it's going to be such a fun night at work.

...although I have a date on Thursday night, so there's that at least. :3

1:21 pm - EE!
Oh I am so glad I am getting a two week break after this class. Granted, this class isn't so hard, but still. A break to recharge the batteries will be nice. The past two weeks have been crazy hectic, what with work and class and KNITTING. OMG I am knitting up a storm. I've found a pattern for a scarf that takes me about a day to knit. I've got two done, I need to finish four more, plus a hat, plus my other Dr Horrible wrister.

I've been trying to work on a original manuscript for almost a year now, but I've ben having trouble getting started. That, my friends, has all been solved in one word: Steampunk. :D Oh yes... this is going to be awesome.

As far as Thursday... I'm still nervous excited. We haven't worked out showtime/where we're eating yet, but probably either later tonight or tomorrow. I have a killer new outfit. I'm dyeing my hair in just a little bit. So yeah... really still stoked about it.

Other than that... not much is going down. Still... eeee!

So... I can't put any of this on facebook because of the stupid people at work but...

I'm fairly certain I'm having my first date in about ten years next Thursday. With the crush from work.

Morose blathering cut so I don't infect the world with my schmoo cloud )

I'm going to watch some mindless cartoon movie on Netflix and knit for a while. I may do some schoolwork a little later but... not right now. Not when I'm this... I don't even know what to call this anymore.

...ok so... I'm a trifle loopy at the moment from the vicodin but I thought I should put up an update.

Went to work. Was cleaning a brewer. Cleaning involved putting a cleaning agent into the urn and "brewing" a full batch. Making coffee only no actual coffee. After that, you have to empty the urn into the sink, and refill it again and empty again. Second time emptying the urn, my grip slipped. The urn was taking a header, and I tried to catch it. Which was actually kinda stupid when you think about it. Because the water splashed over the edge of the urn and all. over. my. arm.

Yeah. They sent me to the ER when it started to blister. The ER doc said it wasn't too bad. He gave me some cream and some gauze pathces/rolls, and did I mention vicodin? He gave me vidocin.

So yeah... it's going to be an interesting few days.

11:55 am - A School Type Rant
...I have no words. I literally have NO WORDS to describe how DUMB the people in my learning group appear to be. At least two of them, at any rate.

So, the project is fairly simply really. We look at a "service request" from a "company" (all made up by UofP... who did a really good job of it, actually) and write a proposal for how to improve the information systems used in Production or Inventory (We're going with Inventory, since there are a LOT of places for improvement). I, again, got to be the group leader. I've laid out the project, all the parts are assigned and taken care of. I put up a link to the PDF where the current inventory system is described in detail and I asked everyone to brainstorm what things we can do to improve the system. Spelling it out even:

"We need to suggest changes to the current system (above) which makes the entire inventory/manufacturing process more efficient using an new computerized information system. Looking at the current process, at every step where inventory is removed, a physical form is filled out. At the end of each day, the inventory clerk has to enter that information into the inventory system. We need to find ways to eliminate as much of the paper as possible. So, what I'd like everyone to do is look carefully at the process and come up with one idea that would cut down on the amount of paper generated."

One response was: "I'll need help because I haven't a clue where to start"

The other was:

"As the product is taken out of inventory the employee writes the raw material down on a "Input sheet" then after the final product is produces that material is written down on an "Output" sheet. At the end of every shift the "Input" and "Output" sheets are turned into the Inventory clerk. The Inventory clerk can then remove the Raw material used and enter the final product made. This will eliminate the information having to be entered in between removing the raw material and beginning the process."

...*headdesk* I literally cannot deal with this right now. I cannot. I'm going to go kill things on a video game for a while so I don't feel like strangling people.

6:53 pm - Das Photobomb
So I've been meaning to update for... like... forever. Just... stuff. >.> Yeah.

ANYWAY. Operation: Geeky Birthday was a success! He loved the cupcakes. He really liked the books. He liked his card. :D Yay! So Now I share with you the Geeky Photobomb! )

Other than that, things are going ok. The class is skimming along. I got named team leader again, which I don't mind cosidering what a crapshoot the leaderless experience was the last class. Work is... yeah. Creepy boss is creepy and might get elbowed in the face if he isn't careful. Working on fics and other gizmos... and OH!

Shiney wrister in progress

My Dr Horrible Wristers! They are blocking! I'm hoping the fit will be ok. I'm not 100% sure yet. The button band was an adventure although OMG I hate picking up stitches. Hate. Hate. Hate. If the wrister fits after blocking, I'll start on the other one and buy some buttons. If not, I'm going to head to the lys to pick up more and start again. Might have to tweak the pattern. We'll see.

EDIT: ...yeaaah we're going to be tweaking the pattern. Heading to the lys to pick up yarn before work.

2:52 pm - Operation: Geeky Birthday update
1. Determine if Crush has Warcraft Novels: achieved. No he does not. SCORE
2. Obtain Warcraft Archive: achieved. I'm also considering giving him my copy of Neil Gaiman's Smoke and Mirrors, since I was instructed that it was a Pass It On book
3. Make Super Mario Bros mushroom cupcakes. I've decided to use a basic white cake, a vanilla icing (red and green food color) and marzipan spots. Problem: obtaining/making marzipan. I thought I had scored when I found marzipan in the grocery store, only to find that the stuff was ROCK HARD. So, I'm researching other likely places to procure marzipan or how to get a hold of a lot of blanched almonds for a recipe I found.
4. Obtain appropriately geeky card. ...kinda? I found a Charlie Brown one which I think he'll like (cuz we all call him Charlie Brown at work) but I had another idea. Have to see if it works out.

Otherwise, a pretty productive day. Cleaned my room, the bath room, and the cat box. Did laundry. Got set up for my new class... yup. Feelin pretty good.

Ok. Seriously learning group? WHO IS PUTTING THE FINAL PROJECT TOGETHER???? This is why I like team leaders instead of this hippy commie crap of "uuu let's just do this as a democratic group type thing"

GRAH

Anyway, beyond that, Saturday is The Crush's birthday. So.

Let OPERATION: GEEKY BIRTHDAY commence

1. Determine if Crush has Warcraft Novels: achieved. No he does not. SCORE
2. Obtain WarCraft Archive book, which has four of the novels. Possibly today.
3. Make cupcakes. Super Mario Bros mushroom cupcakes. Have to figure out how to do the spots
4. Obtain appropriately geeky card.

whoo there's a lot to do. Other than that, the goal for today is to finish up homework and then probably put this stupid paper project together. >.< Cuz I have this craptacular feeling that I get to put it together. yay.

A Quick Note To My Body )

SIGH. Other than that, I'm still feeling a bit lacking in the motivational department. This past week wasn't my best for the class I'm in. I have phone calls I need to make before I go to work... and I'm really struggling to find the energy to do it. Or to work on homework so I have more time tomorrow and Thursday to finish up my portion of the end of class group project. The one good thing about the past couple of days is that I'm cranking out huge chunks of the fic I'm currently working on. I haven't gotten to knit recently, but I think that'll change soon.

But between work and the weather, I'm feeling really kind of meh right now.

12:29 pm - crap
...second day in a row where I've woken up with the motivation to do diddly squat.

...yeaaah that's not good. >.< I'm hoping it's just the weather. We had a string of gloomy, quasi-rainy days. Less sunlight = bad for quasi-seasonal affective disorder. I'm going to try to answer the discussion question due today for class before I leave for work. If I don't, I need to do it tonight when I get home. Not something I'm looking forward to. I'm also going to try to either knit or possibly write something, since I woke up at around 9 and have spent the past three hours in bed reading FAKE. ...at least I picked something good to read.
